About the Compress Image to 50KB tool

50 KB is one of the most common upload limits for application photos, ID pictures and online exam forms. Instead of guessing a quality setting and trying again and again, this tool tests many settings for you in a few seconds and picks the sharpest result that still fits. You can compress several images at once and download them together as a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between KB and MB?

1 MB is 1,024 KB. A typical phone photo is 2–5 MB, so it has to become about 50–100 times smaller to fit under 50 KB.

Should I choose JPG or WebP?

Choose JPG for application forms — almost every website accepts it. WebP looks a little better at the same size, but some forms don't accept it.

My form also asks for exact dimensions. What should I do?

Crop the photo to the right size first with Passport Photo Maker or Resize Image, then compress it here.

Is it free?

Yes. There are no limits, watermarks or sign-ups.
